Madrid
Photo shoot with Madrid
February 9, 2007
Looking back, I think that Madrid is one of the most beautiful and expressive models I have ever worked with. I very much wish I had been more skilled at the time I shot with her.
These images are from my first ever solo photo shoot, the first time I had ever set up a light for myself. Unfortunately, I didn't know my camera very well yet, so most of the images are very underexposed.
There was also a lot of personal turmoil in my life focusing around the time of this shoot. So I didn't go back and look at the images until way later, and then still left them mainly untouched until now, almost two years after the shoot.
I still see some of the breathtaking poses that I remembered from the shoot. I found that I could salvage a few of them from my own mistakes. They're still very flawed on a technical level due to the amount of recovery work. Noisy, grainy, rough gradients in the backdrops. And probably suitable only for web view. I doubt they would print at any reasonably quality at all.
But, from a historical standpoint of my own work, and as a testimonial to the beautiful job done by the model, I'll leave a few of these images to stand from that day.
