Down by the Riverbank
Photo shoot with anonymous female model and Chameleon
June 5, 2008
...she catches the light of the moon in her outstretched hands, even as its reflection slips right through her fingers...
This lovely female friend of mine usually does not shoot nudes. She asked if we could shoot something together in my style, where the images would not show her face.
We had originally planned a more straightforward figure study shoot, but I had this idea taking shape of the bowed-headed moon-worshiper at the riverbank.
My friend was more than patient in a long day of frustrations with uncooperative equipment. While none of the images encompassed all of the aspects we desired, I take full responsibility for this. Despite it all, we still felt like we created a strong sense of atmosphere and environment in this indoor studio shoot.
The images of Chameleon were shot as lighting tests after he graciously helped me put the set back together for one more round of shooting after some elements fell out of place. These photos of him seemed to fit the mood and catch some emotive moments, so I included them in the album.
