"Rescue Me" Behind the Scenes
"Rescue Me" ("The Rat Shoot")
Nakayama Studios at the Las Vegas Photo Center
July 8, 2007
During our trip to Las Vegas in July of 2007, we met photographer Richard Rasner of UniqueNudes, who we had previously known only by reputation but not personally.
We met him at the opening of his show at the Apparatus gallery on the 6th, and had a wonderful time cruising the Strip in a hired limo with all of our new friends afterward. He also invited us to sit in on a shoot he was having on our last morning in town. These photos are "behind the scenes" shots from the proceedings.
It was a particularly fun environment to shoot in, since there were models with pet rats crawling over them everywhere in the studio! Some of the shots actually turned out unexpectedly artistic for what began as purely documentary shooting. However since we were guests at
Richard's shoot, these images are not for sale as prints.
The "Rescue Me" photo shoot was a fund-raising effort designed to raise money for RatzenMauzers (RMCA of Las Vegas), a not-for-profit organization that takes in abused pet rats and finds them good homes.
100% of Richard's print profits from this shoot will be donated back to the shelter and foster homes, to cover items
such as bedding, food and ample cages.
To find out about how you can adopt one of these wonderful pets, go to RatzenMauzers.com, or e-mail Terry Williams at RatMom1@RatzenMauzers.com.
To purchase prints of Richard's official images from the shoot, and support Ratzenmausers, please visit UniqueNudes' DeviantART print store.
