St. Merrique
We continued our tonality studies on the opposite end of the continuum with the dark-skinned, dark-haired St. Merrique.
We began with a short high-key set to observe the vastly different effect brought about by placing a dark-skinned model on our light-colored backdrops. Then we moved into a series of low-key studies, for the opposing scenario of rich, warm skin tones glowing against minimalist black, textural, and vivid-color backgrounds.
Concepts presented included the use of white and colored rim lights to outline the body in highlights, a continuation of creating shadow lines on the body, and bodyscapes with the model working against textural set pieces.
Merrique brought to her sets during this event some of the most expressive and dynamic posing I have ever had the privilege to see in a shoot.
