As in some other images from the day, shooting 'along' this fallen tree with just a tiny change in upward tilt of the camera would bring in an entirely different effect in terms of the sunlight flaring into the lens.
The amount of 'haze' effect in each final image is determined by the shooting angle, and then either leaving the shot really soft, or adding adding a selected amount of contrast back in during post-production.
This version is the closest to how the photo was shot in camera. There's a little contrast added back in during post, but not nearly as much as in either prior version. The overall effect is much more soft and hazy.
