This spider took up residence and built a perfect web on the outside of the building here at the
studio - just in time for Halloween!
When I first walked out and saw it, I had no idea how long the spider would remain posed so
perfectly in the center of the web, and I just HAD to run back in for the cameras and take
pictures.
The spider remained almost immobile and gave me the opportunity to take many variations
of the scene in both digital and film. This shot was taken in the warm twilight just before
the sun went down. After this, as the evening rapidly darkened, I had to go back inside
and bring out a photo light in order to illuminate the whole web enough to photograph it in
all the beauty of its natural symmetry.
