Friday Post-Bath Cage Chewing
Date: 02/29/2016
Friday enjoyed some quality time chewing on the food-dish door of her cage after her bath. The progress of her feather growth, especially her tail and wing feathers, shows really well here.
Friday Post-Bath Comp

Shooting with just the light from the regular lamps in the room, so as not to possibly distress Friday with camera flashes, results in a pretty narrow depth-of-field in the photos - the focus is at its sharpest only at one small distance from the lens, with the rest of the photo being gradually more blurry, the further away from that focal point. So for photography in this type of situation, it becomes important to carefully select the focal point of each shot.
I took one photo where the focal point was on Friday's face, and another where it was on her wing (the next two shots in this album). She barely moved between the two shots. So I was able to create a digital composite, where I combined the sharpest parts of both photos, to see all of her in better detail.
Friday Post-Bath - Face Focus
Date: 02/29/2016
In this shot, Friday's face is the point of sharpest focus.
The previous photo in this album is a digital composite, combining her face from this photo, with her body from the next photo in the album, where that part of her was in sharpest focus.
Friday Post-Bath - Wing Focus
Date: 02/29/2016
In this shot, Friday's wing is the point of sharpest focus, to show as much detail as possible of her feathers and the water droplets.
Two photos previous in this album is a digital composite, combining her body from this photo, with her face from the immediately previous photo in the album, where that part of her was in sharpest focus.
