Casper the albino cockatiel and Gordie the green Indian Ringneck.

I was experimenting with color temperature settings. This image was shot at a much lower color temperature than the other photos of Gordie in this album. Hence the much bluer tone to her feathers and the silver stand she's perched on.
It's all parts of photography I'm exploring. Greens tend to shoot yellow, I'm noticing. This is a pretty significant alteration to the color temperature of the camera, yet results in the bird's color in the photo matching more closely what my eye sees when I look at her.

High key albino cockatiel. I'm pleased with the effect.

This would be her beauty shot, I suppose. It was actually quite interesting experimenting with lighting and exposure of a white bird on a white backdrop. A surprising variety of effects can be achieved.
Casper Macro Portrait

I have a macro lens I've barely ever used. I tried it out shooting way up close on the birds. The depth of field effects are interesting and challenging. I'd be happier if my focal point in this image were just a hair to the right, centered on Casper's eye instead of just the back of her eye. But I like the photo quite a lot.
In her eye you can also see the perfect reflection of the big new octabox softbox I was using for my mainlight. It's interesting, and not sure if I like that big a catchlight or not.
