MJ Owns the Mic

MJ, in a portrait set based around a "lounge singer" theme and environment. The introductory workshops almost invariably begin with a portrait set, examining the behavior of a single light, then multiple lights on the model's face and features.

MJ, in a "lounge singer" set. This set emphasized the use of color and background elements to create a fitting environment and atmosphere.
MJ Plugs it In

I Wish: II

Through most of this workshop, I did not keep a remote trigger on my camera - staying out of the way of the lights for the workshop participants to shoot. I did snap some shots by the modeling lights, which was just barely sufficient for 3200 ISO at sloooow shutter speeds.
Shot as they were, these frames show some beautiful poses from Merrique, but they are underexposed, extremely noisy, and full of motion blur. With a lot of noise reduction they're workable at a small web view size, but that's all they can be used for -- not viewable even at full screen size, much less at print quality.
Here is one of several in this vein that I am calling the "I Wishes" -- images I WISH I had been shooting "for real."
