Chopsticks and Flowers

Although the alcove where we were set up for painting was a very low-light setting, the quality and position of the lighting
was actually really nice. As Lisa was painting Brittani, I wasn't stopping the progress to hold or refine poses, but waiting for
such pleasing moments in action as opportunity presented. I finally caught this shot, in fitting with the Asian-themed paint,
of Brittani's averted face, graceful neckline, and artful hairstyle. It shows a good closeup of the fine detail work in Lisa's
hand-painted flower pattern as well.

Blonde hair, and the warm yellow lighting of the restaurant's ambiance. Another shot showing the hairstyle created by Lisa for the
evening's Asian-themed costume.

Brittani Onstage from Afar 1
Date: 09/17/2008
Paint completed, Brittani mingles and greets, doing her job as an attraction of the event.
I wanted to document a view of her "out and about" at the event, so I set up for a couple of shots as she looked out over the
crowd from the dj stage. The club lighting was flashing and rotating in a multicolor array. So I had to time each shot to a
moment when a beam of white light would flash across Brittani to illuminate her painted figure, tiny at this distance even
zoomed in with my long lens.

Tatou "Promo Poster" 1
Date: 09/17/2008
Another case of seeing a shot I wanted and waiting for moments to take it.
The go-go dancers were one on each side of the stage in their elevated cage platforms. So framing through the potted palm
tree for color and foreground effect, I could keep the centerstage club logo prominent, and wait for the beam of white light
to flash across the dancer. Club lighting effects and negative space complete a composition containing elements selected to
tell just the right "story" as a promotional poster for what this venue has to offer.
